For 27 years, I’ve been hiring people for my company. You may have hired people as well. You start by determining what roles you’ll need in your organization. Then you determine what skills you’ll need in those roles. Then you begin interviewing people for those roles until you find the best fit. After the person has worked for me a while, I always wish there were a few things I could change in that person; a few qualities I wish were different.
It sure would be nice to determine what roles I needed in my organization. Then determine the skills I needed in those roles. Once that's clear, how cool would it be to have the ability to create those individuals to fill those roles? If we had this ability, we would be unstoppable.
I want to remind you that God has this ability, and that’s just what He’s done with you. Ephesians 2:10 says, “We are God’s masterpiece. He created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we could do the good things he planned for us long ago.” When you were created, God got involved. You're not random. He gave you specific skills, abilities, and desires so that you could execute effectively on the plans He created you for.
Do you see yourself as a masterpiece? Are you approaching life with the confidence, ambition, and humility that comes with being a planned creation of God; sculpted for a purpose? Whether you do or don’t changes everything about the way you approach life. Don't let your life collect dust like a forgotten masterpiece hidden away in a dusty attic. God has ambitious plans for you. Are you living them?
